This guide will provide you the information if you have booked the ticket from the irctc account and wanted to cancel from same.

Cancelling the ticket from IRCTC website

1. Login to your irctc account: visit the official irctc website and enter your username and password.
2. GO to "Booked ticket history" : Click 4 bars on top right side of screen, under "My Account" section, click "My transactions" , you will see "Booked Ticket History" click over it.
3. Select your ticket: choose the ticket of a person wishes to cancel, tick the box next to "I have read and understood the cancellation rules and procedure", now click "Cancel Ticket" again to confirm.
4. Verify with OTP: An OTP(one-time password) has been send to registered mobile number. Ente OTP and Click submit.
5. Confirmation: Once requested processed, a confirm message shown on screen and cancel ticket email on the email registered.

Notes:

1. E-ticket can be cancelled before the chart preparation is done.
2. Refund amount and cancellation charges depend type of ticket and time of cancellation. Refer to irctc website for detailed description.
3. Refund amount transfer within 8-10 working days. Amount will be credit back to payment mode used for booking ticket.
