Railway ministry has announced that users who have verified their account with Aadhaar will only be able to book tatkal ticket online through IRCTC official website or by app from July.
From 1 July, 2025 onwards only the Aadhaar verified user will be able to book tatkal ticket. The Railway ministry has said that changes are implemented to provide scheme's benefits to genuine users.
Steps to authenticate IRCTC user Id
- Log in to IRCTC account on website or mobile app.
- Click the three bar on top right side of the website, dropdown open click "My Account".
- Click on "Authenticate User' and complete the authentication process.
Authenticate the user for hassle-free tatkal ticket booking.
