Boarding point is the station on which your will get on the train from which your journey will start. For example: you have booked your ticket from Delhi to Pune and your are taking your train from Delhi then boarding point is Delhi but sometimes the boarding point can be different, if changed while booking ticket.
Follow these steps to change the boarding station of your journey.
- Open IRCTC website and login to your account
To change boarding point open IRCTC website in any of the browser. Navigate to the login page, enter your username and password to login. After successful login IRCTC booking page will opens. - Select your booking ticket
On top left click three bars, sidebar opens click on "My Account" tab and select "My Transactions". Under "My Transactions" click on "Booked ticket History" to get your booked tickets. - Change the boarding station
New page opens, with ticket train details and list with available boarding stations for the train. select the boarding station according to the journey from drop down. - Pay the amount difference ( sometimes applicable)
In some of the cases, there is difference in fare while changing the boarding station. If there is changes in fare payment option shows with fare amount complete the payment. - Confirm of Changes
Confirmation message shows once boarding station changes successfully. An email send to registered email bout changing of the boarding station
Note:
- Boarding station for e-ticket can be changes online before 24hours of the scheduled departure of the train. On changing the boarding station passenger won't be able to board train from original boarding point, If found passenger will have to pay penalty between the boarding stations.
- Passenger are allowed to change boarding point only once.
- Boarding station can't be changed for the tatkal ticket and ticket under special quota.
- Earlier than 24hours of the schedules departure of train, boarding station may be changed.
